Ice Diving in Arlesey - January 2010
Submitted by Adrian Colegate on 11-Jan-2010 10:19:40. Updated on 14-Jan-2010 13:49:31

A well organised expedition saw 4 club members safely conduct roped diver operations under 80mm of ice at the Blue Lagoon, Arlesey on Sunday morning.

Water temperature as measured on the diver's computers recorded between 1 and 2 degrees Centigrade.

This was a great thrill for all as its not often that lakes in our area freeze over sufficiently for this once-in-a-while experience.

Two club members experienced in ice diving acted as roped diver supervisors. All the diving equipment performed perfectly in the freezing conditions.

With ice conditions expected to continue for the next week, we are planning another expedition on Sunday 17th January.
